Sammie and I recently found ourselves in a red room. Red carpet, red sofas, red walls and red paintings on the wall.
We have been going to events at the Bliss Spiritual Co-Op and the Law of Attraction group caught our eye. The red room is where they met.
We are both big fans of the Law of Attraction and manifestation. Last year, I wrote about how I manifested lotion and how it changed my perspective on thinking big.
However, I’ve run into a new blocker with manifestation. I haven’t been able to lay back and visualize a clear idea of what I want for my future. I’ve been struggling with knowing what I want and what’s exciting to me. This was a sign to me that something in my life is preventing me from thinking big.
So when Sammie invited me to join her for the Law of Attraction Group, I knew it was my time to join.
About ten people of different ages joined us for the Law of Attraction Group. The group facilitator, Chris, asked us if anyone had specific questions.
Sammie shared that she’s been contributing to the PSLF student loan program and is close to finishing her 10 year loan forgiveness. However, she was having difficultly manifesting finishing the program. Chris led her through an exercise to imagine she never had the loans, that they disappeared.
Sammie realized she couldn’t imagine her student loans ending in any way except in the specific way the program is set up. There’s nothing wrong with this, but one woman, Sherry, reminded us that it’s “Law of Attraction” not “Law of Assertion” which is an important reminder for manifestation. It’s easy for people like me and Sammie, people who love control, to say exactly how we want to receive our blessings. Like we are giving the universe the instructions to the physical world and demanding to receive things in that way.
This was a good reminder for me too. I’ve been blocked when it comes to thinking about my future because I want to make the perfect plan. The group helped me shift my focus to the feelings I wanted in the future. I want to be happy and have peace in my life. This exercise also helped me realize that right now, my life has those things!

Recently, Sammie and I were trapped during our layover in Dallas when all flights were grounded due to a storm. We had to get a hotel to stay overnight and I was booked on a new flight with an additional layover. I thought of our partner AirHelp then, knowing I could use them after the trip and let them see if I could receive compensation for the inconvenience of the flight.
