We look at automating your money, setting up different sub savings account or “buckets” for your leftover money and creating a money ritual for when you receive your paycheck.
Looking back, I remember that my mom bugged me for six month after I started my first full time job to set up my 401K. That seemingly small thing allowed me to put money into my 401K for five years without even thinking about it. I didn’t realize it at the time, but I was setting myself up for the magic of compounding. When I ended up leaving my job, I was grateful that I had that money set aside for my retirement.
