120. Nick Gray on How To Make Friends As An Adult
Interview with Nick Gray, Author of The 2-Hour Cocktail Party
I hate throwing parties! They stress me out. I worry way too much about what to feed people, whether or not people will show up and if they do show up, I’m constantly wondering if people are having a good time. If I didn’t have Sammie, I’d never be able to throw a party.
This is why though I was so excited to read The 2-Hour Cocktail Party and have the author, Nick Gray, join us on Build A Wealthy Spirit. We have a conversation about the best way to make friends as adults and how to start thinking about throwing the best party. Nick even gives me a little party therapy and listens to my grievances with having a birthday on a red level day (New Year’s Eve!).
In this episode we cover Core Groups (your friends you invite first), bios in the invites, name tags and how to handle people who are typically late to parties (looking at us, Indian people!)
You can hear how excited we are about the ideas in this book and Sammie and I are already starting to think about how we can throw our first party. Nick is not only knowledgeable about throwing a party, he is clearly passionate about his mission to get more people to throw parties and build community.
For this episode, we are giving away five copies of The 2-Hour Cocktail Party to the first five listeners that comment below or send us an email to buildawealthyspirit@gmail.com!
